The Athens-Berlin project “Sustainability and Energy Use” is an Erasmus+ 2024-2025 project which is being implemented from January 2024 in schools and educational settings and is aimed at primary and secondary school students and teachers (Smaller Partnerships in School Education project number 2023-2-DE03-KA210-SCH-000183361).

The programme includes workshop modules for pupils on climate change and energy saving. The objectives of the activities and educational material of the project “Sustainability and energy use Athens – Berlin” are

  1. Raising awareness and empowering the school community on sustainability, especially regarding energy use in the school building, where the school building functions as a living place of learning.
  2. The creative classroom approach to climate change and its consequences, not focusing on the threat of a bleak future but on the potential we have as a society to act collectively! The use of energizing and emotionally effective methods, such as- participatory planning
    – expression through art, theatre and painting
    – play
    – visualising solutions
will work in this direction so that the empowerment of the school community is long term / longer lasting, building active citizens for the future.
  3. Using the necessary tools and adapting the knowledge base so that the workshops are close to the needs of socially vulnerable children and youth/adolescents.
