A new Erasmus+ project, more energy-saving workshops
We are delighted to announce our participation in a new project that will enable us to run even more energy saving workshops!
The “Sustainability and Energy Use Athens -Berlin” is an Erasmus+ 2024-2025 project that has been running since January 2024 in schools and educational institutions and is aimed at primary and secondary school students and teachers (Smaller Partnerships in School Education program number 2023-2-DE03-KA210-SCH-000183361).
The project includes workshop modules for students on climate change and energy conservation. The objectives of the actions and educational material of the “Sustainability and Energy Use Athens-Berlin” project are
- Raising awareness and empowering the school community about sustainability, especially regarding energy use in the school building, where the school building functions as a living learning environment.
- A creative approach to teaching climate change and its consequences, focusing not on the threat of a bleak future but on the potential we have as a society to act collectively! The use of engaging and emotionally effective methods, such as
– participatory design
– expression through art, theater, and painting
– play
– the vision of solutions
will work towards this goal, so that the strengthening of the school community is long-term/more lasting, building active citizens for the future. - The use of the necessary tools and the adaptation of the cognitive background so that the workshops are tailored to the needs of socially vulnerable children and young people/adolescents.
Implementing bodies: Respekt für Griechenland e.V., BNE-Zentrum, Unabhängiges Institut für Umweltfragen in Berlin and Community Energy River in Athens.
